Pure Candy Alchemic Sequence 1 Terry Toweling Dressing Gown
Dark olive and black-green make Pure Candy Sequence 1 feel close-set and botanical rather than loud. A small lattice covers the gown, while acid-green ornament gathers through the center and grows broader below the belt and across the back. The shift in scale rewards a full turn around the piece: compact repeat first, then a more open green passage.
The artwork on the gown
The palette combines dark olive and black-green. The pattern features small repeating lattice. Across the back, the pattern includes central botanical band.
The gown form
The wrap-front gown has a dark shawl-style collar, long sleeves, waist tie and front pockets.
Living with the work
Let this be the deep-green beginning of a Pure Candy study. Its contrast lives inside one restrained palette, so it can hold its own without needing a competing pattern beside it. River Jade Smithy treats this as original artwork by Travis Huffaker carried into a useful house layer for preparation, rest, return, and the quieter intervals around a day.
With gratitude for your presence in the work, may this piece serve as both useful form and a continuing encounter with the art.
