Pure Candy Dressing Gown — Sequence #15
Pure Candy Sequence 15 returns to indigo and violet, but threads the field with rust-gold outlined loops. A small green-blue-and-rust focal form sits inside those repeating shapes, giving the center a compact multicolor charge. The long panels of the gown allow the outlined loops to repeat while the center remains distinct.
The artwork on the gown
At the center is a small green-blue and rust focal form within repeating gold-outlined violet loops. The palette combines indigo and violet ground, rust-gold outlined loops, muted green and blue details.
The gown form
The wrap-front gown has a dark shawl-style collar, long sleeves, waist tie and front pockets.
Living with the work
This piece works for someone who wants jewel tones with a warmer metallic-looking counterpoint in the print. As a collection study it prepares the transition from violet into the turquoise-jade field of Sequence 16. River Jade Smithy treats this as original artwork by Travis Huffaker carried into a useful house layer for preparation, rest, return, and the quieter intervals around a day.
With gratitude for your presence in the work, may this piece serve as both useful form and a continuing encounter with the art.
