Pure Candy Dressing Gown — Sequence #16
Pure Candy Sequence 16 is one of the family’s brightest cool fields: turquoise and aqua crossed by a jade-green geometric lattice. Brown, lime, and violet accents gather into a narrow center ornament, so the eye moves between expansive blue-green color and a more intricate vertical core. The gown gives that lattice a generous uninterrupted surface.
The artwork on the gown
At the center is a brown-lime-violet vertical ornament set in a bright turquoise jade lattice. The palette combines turquoise and aqua ground, jade-green geometric lattice, brown, lime, and violet center accents.
The gown form
The wrap-front gown has a dark shawl-style collar, long sleeves, waist tie and front pockets.
Living with the work
Let the turquoise-jade field lead. In a Pure Candy collection, Sequence 16 can stand as the cool-color counterpart to the antique-gold Sequence 17 that follows it. River Jade Smithy treats this as original artwork by Travis Huffaker carried into a useful house layer for preparation, rest, return, and the quieter intervals around a day.
With gratitude for your presence in the work, may this piece serve as both useful form and a continuing encounter with the art.
