Pure Candy Dressing Gown — Sequence #8
Pure Candy Sequence 8 cools the family into blue-teal and weathered gray. Olive-gold oval repeats move through the ground, and a violet-blue axis gives the center a clearer vertical note. Across the gown, the ovals and cooler field create a softer geometry than the sharper grids elsewhere in the sequence.
The artwork on the gown
At the center is a violet-blue axis set within cool blue-gray oval geometry. The palette combines blue-teal and weathered gray ground, olive-gold oval repeats, violet-blue center accents.
The gown form
The wrap-front gown has a dark shawl-style collar, long sleeves, waist tie and front pockets.
Living with the work
The result is a calm, cool house layer with enough gold and violet to keep the blue from becoming flat. It is especially useful as a collecting bridge between the family’s jewel colors and its quieter gray members. River Jade Smithy treats this as original artwork by Travis Huffaker carried into a useful house layer for preparation, rest, return, and the quieter intervals around a day.
With gratitude for your presence in the work, may this piece serve as both useful form and a continuing encounter with the art.
