Pewter, blue, silver, gray

This edition carries Opal Skies Cantus Primus "Lūminōsitās". Pewter, steel blue, slate gray and silver build a cool mineral field anchored by charcoal-black lines. Large outlined oval discs turn around the waistband; below, mirrored feathered or veined structures descend through the body with muted olive and icy-blue shifts.

Form & making

Fitted Glitter Yoga Shorts with a high-rise waistband and a six-inch inseam. The artwork continues across the waistband and garment panels.

Artwork by River Jade Smith Travis Huffaker. Each pair is made on demand with Art of Where in Montreal, Canada.

Fabric & finish

Glitter Performance Knit combines 88% polyester with 12% spandex, with a shimmering surface for the printed artwork.

Fit & body measurements

Choose your size using your waist and hip measurements. These ranges describe the body, not the finished garment.

The supplier’s US size labels follow its women’s sizing convention. Measurements are approximate, and handmade pieces may vary.

Measure around your natural waist and the fullest part of your hips with a flexible tape. Compare both measurements with the ranges below.

The six-inch inseam describes the inside-leg length from the crotch seam to the hem.

The artwork & a closer look

The front waistband carries a row of large black-outlined oval discs with marbled pewter-blue interiors and short black vertical bars above. Below, mirrored silver-blue veining and feather-like textures frame a dark central opening and narrow blue-white stripe. The waistband seam makes a decisive boundary between discs above and mineral veining below; center-front shaping divides the mirrored body field. The discs broaden across the front waist while the vein structures taper toward the inner thighs. The back repeats the outlined disc band, then opens into broad silver-gray mirrored textures across the seat. A black central vertical line and narrow blue-white patterned strip organize the rear axis. The rear seam splits the mirrored mineral forms; the waistband transition crops the bottom of the disc row. Seat curvature widens the silver-gray fields and turns the disc band around both hips. The profile shows the disc band wrapping around the hip above a broad slate-gray side field with subtle olive, silver and icy-blue veining. Dark vertical borders frame the side plane. The waistband seam separates the circular band; side shaping interrupts the lower mirrored structures. Discs become narrower ovals as they turn around the hip, while the mineral field broadens across the side thigh. The opposite profile provides a second wrap view of the pewter-blue discs and a broad charcoal-framed mineral panel, with faint blue and olive shifts concentrated near the center. The disc band and lower panel remain distinct across the waistband and side boundaries. The disc row compresses toward the side edge and the lower field opens over the seat-side curve.

Explore all four supplied views to follow the artwork around the front, back and sides. The seams and curves change how the print meets across the panels.

Origin Story

Opal Skies Cantus Primus “Lūminōsitās” carries River Jade Smith Travis Huffaker’s cool disc-and-vein drawing. Silver-colored passages and mineral-like forms give the House’s faceted-light imagery a quieter register. Let the light-looking edges guide you inward, then back into the larger disc.

River Jade Smithy's poetic welcome

The Art of Where Room for the Living

Come, fellow traveler, leave room in your day;
The Grail Smith has colour to set on its way.
A curve caught in copper, a gleam held in stone,
May travel in cloth without losing its home.

Remember the hands where the first marks began,
The long, patient looking no measure can span.
Let River Jade Smithy's clear signature stay
As the work finds new places to enter the day.

In Montréal, lengths of printed cloth lie
Like gardens unrolled beneath somebody's eye.
The cutter attends to the shape they will take;
The needle draws near, and the quiet seams wake.

Here is the art of a where still to come:
A scarf at a doorway, the street's waking hum;
A skirt in the turning of music and feet;
A flash of a story where strangers may meet.

Carry the image; let weather and hour
Change how you notice its branch and its flower.
An angle of silver, a fold touched by sun—
The looking continues when making is done.

And when someone asks what the colours might mean,
Give room to the creature their own eyes have seen.
Tell where it started; then listen awhile:
The tale may grow wider in somebody's smile.

Let Green Worth take root in the things that we do:
Make room for repair; let care carry us through.
Learn what the cloth needs. Let the old keep a place
Beside what is new in the life we embrace.

The Earth is our hearth, with its rain at the sill,
Its roots in the dark and its birds on the hill.
May the wealth that we gather leave others their share—
Clean water, a refuge, a future to bear.

So bring to this fellowship something of you:
A name for a wonder, a kindness made true.
Let Loved be the welcome we practise and give,
With room for another, and room still to live.

The road leaves the workshop; the door opens wide.
Take story and colour out into the tide
Of mornings and meetings, of lives everywhere—
And help make a world that has room for us there.
