RJS Native Upload

Local copying · Original files · Owner control

A personal Mac tool for preserving River Jade Smithy's art archive as individual files in Google Drive.

Operated by Travis Huffaker of River Jade Smithy, this deterministic tool uses rclone to copy owner-selected files directly from the Mac to the operator's selected Google Drive account. It is for the operator's own archive, with no public registration or hosted upload service.

What the tool does

  • Copies individual original files to predetermined archive folders.
  • Checks existing copies and records file sizes, hashes and transfer receipts.
  • Preserves original filenames, metadata companions and the relationship between an original and any viewing copy.
  • Uses a local journal so a transfer can pause and resume without treating an uncertain result as complete.

The supplied workflow is copy-only. It does not automatically delete source originals or change who can access the archive.

Why it requests Google Drive access

The tool requests full Google Drive access so it can reconcile files already in the operator's archive, including files created before this connection. Google's permission can allow viewing, creating, editing and deleting Drive files. The supplied program restricts its work to copying and verifying files in the operator's predetermined archive targets.

Google sign-in happens through Google's authorization flow. Authorization credentials stay in local configuration on the Mac and are exchanged directly with Google. These informational pages do not receive credentials, originals or transfer logs.

Privacy and control

The uploader has no external AI API, advertising or analytics integration. It does not automatically send archive content to other people. Travis controls retention and can revoke the Google connection in Google Account security settings.
