Turquoise, magenta, deep violet, bronze-brown, yellow-green

This edition carries Eighth WindSong Flower Pure Candy@Alchemic. This design layers hot magenta and turquoise floral-scroll structures over deep violet and bronze-brown grounds. The waistband is comparatively bright and open, while the body becomes a dense stacked lattice with small yellow-green oval highlights and repeated violet medallion forms.

Form & making

Fitted Glitter Yoga Shorts with a high-rise waistband and a six-inch inseam. The artwork continues across the waistband and garment panels.

Artwork by River Jade Smith Travis Huffaker. Each pair is made on demand with Art of Where in Montreal, Canada.

Fabric & finish

Glitter Performance Knit combines 88% polyester with 12% spandex, with a shimmering surface for the printed artwork.

Fit & body measurements

Choose your size using your waist and hip measurements. These ranges describe the body, not the finished garment.

The supplier’s US size labels follow its women’s sizing convention. Measurements are approximate, and handmade pieces may vary.

Measure around your natural waist and the fullest part of your hips with a flexible tape. Compare both measurements with the ranges below.

The six-inch inseam describes the inside-leg length from the crotch seam to the hem.

The artwork & a closer look

A broad teal-and-magenta ornamental field spans the waistband. Below it, dark violet latticework and repeated medallion-like forms stack down both thighs; small yellow-green ovals punctuate the mirrored front. The waistband seam cuts between the brighter upper register and the darker lower architecture; the center-front seam divides the mirrored lattice. The upper ornament broadens across the abdomen while the lower medallions narrow toward the inner leg. The back repeats the teal-magenta upper field, then concentrates dark violet geometry across the seat. Yellow-green oval accents sit within purple-brown structures on both sides of the rear seam. The rear seam splits the central ornamental axis and the horizontal waistband transition truncates several teal scrolls. Seat curvature opens the violet structures into wider ovals and shifts teal contours toward the outer hips. The profile becomes a vertical ribbon of turquoise outlines, magenta floral clusters and deep violet compartments. A bright green accent appears near the lower outer leg. The side presentation shows motifs interrupted at the waistband and panel edges. Large teal-magenta structures turn around the hip and become narrower, stacked fragments down the thigh. The opposite profile emphasizes a large turquoise-magenta upper scroll and dark violet lower medallions, with yellow-green highlights distributed along the side and seat. The waistband break and side shaping crop the upper floral field and separate it from the lower lattice. The upper scroll broadens across the seat-side plane and the lower units compress near the hem.

Origin Story

Bright upper scrolls meet a darker lower lattice in Eighth WindSong Flower Pure Candy@Alchemic by River Jade Smith Travis Huffaker. Shimmer and shadow give each field its own presence. Let the small scrollwork lead you to the broad division, then follow the quieter lattice below it.

River Jade Smithy's poetic welcome

The Art of Where Room for the Living

Come, fellow traveler, leave room in your day;
The Grail Smith has colour to set on its way.
A curve caught in copper, a gleam held in stone,
May travel in cloth without losing its home.

Remember the hands where the first marks began,
The long, patient looking no measure can span.
Let River Jade Smithy's clear signature stay
As the work finds new places to enter the day.

In Montréal, lengths of printed cloth lie
Like gardens unrolled beneath somebody's eye.
The cutter attends to the shape they will take;
The needle draws near, and the quiet seams wake.

Here is the art of a where still to come:
A scarf at a doorway, the street's waking hum;
A skirt in the turning of music and feet;
A flash of a story where strangers may meet.

Carry the image; let weather and hour
Change how you notice its branch and its flower.
An angle of silver, a fold touched by sun—
The looking continues when making is done.

And when someone asks what the colours might mean,
Give room to the creature their own eyes have seen.
Tell where it started; then listen awhile:
The tale may grow wider in somebody's smile.

Let Green Worth take root in the things that we do:
Make room for repair; let care carry us through.
Learn what the cloth needs. Let the old keep a place
Beside what is new in the life we embrace.

The Earth is our hearth, with its rain at the sill,
Its roots in the dark and its birds on the hill.
May the wealth that we gather leave others their share—
Clean water, a refuge, a future to bear.

So bring to this fellowship something of you:
A name for a wonder, a kindness made true.
Let Loved be the welcome we practise and give,
With room for another, and room still to live.

The road leaves the workshop; the door opens wide.
Take story and colour out into the tide
Of mornings and meetings, of lives everywhere—
And help make a world that has room for us there.
