Samhain Dream Thaw 8 of 15 Octo ex Quindecim — Picnic Blanket
Pale, heart-like outlines gather near the upper edge of Samhain Dream Thaw 8 of 15 Octo ex Quindecim, leading into a closely worked field of scrolling ornament.
Below that lighter opening row, taupe and dark brown repeats form several horizontal bands. The print changes from small pale shapes to fuller paired curves, held inside the blanket’s dark edge and rounded corners.
Cloth, print and size
Polyester fleece face with black water-resistant oxford-cloth backing. One-sided print. One size: 61 in length × 51 in width (155 cm × 129.5 cm). Black carrying strap with buckles.
Care: Machine wash separately in cold water, gentle cycle; tumble dry low; do not bleach, iron, or dry clean.
Living with the work
Spread the upper and lower portions together to enjoy the change of scale. The fleece face is the printed side; the black reverse and separate carrying strap give the blanket a plainer appearance when it is rolled for an outing.
Collecting the work
Look between Samhain Dream Thaw 6 and 8 for a change in the emphasis of small pale motifs. Number 6 keeps its fine repeats close in scale; number 8 gives the upper row a more distinct opening.

Coverage and carrying
One size: 61 in length × 51 in width (155 cm × 129.5 cm). In the picnic form, the contrast between the upper row and the denser lower bands can be seen across one open surface. Folding selects a passage rather than reproducing the entire composition.
From the Atelier
Octo ex Quindecim identifies the eighth Samhain Dream Thaw work. Its original blanket offer paired an artist’s printed surface with the familiar use of an outing blanket and a buckled carrier.
